Who are we?
Hi! I’m Anne and I love me a bit of kink in my dark and taboo novels!
Yeah, it’s not everyone that can easily admit that to a random shop assistant at your local bookshop when looking for your next dark romance read.
It’s difficult sometimes to find your specific genre amongst all of the many romance novels out there. If you’re anything like me, then the kind of stuff you like to read…well, let’s just say it’s not for everyone. In fact, it can get a little awkward.
That’s where I come in!
I was fed up of searching site after site shop after shop looking for my exact kind of book. You know the kind. The kind that gets your heart pounding and gives you a coughing fit because you’ve just gasped for the third time in a minute and your throat is dry.
Mm-hmm. Romance. Not just any romance but DARK romance. In fact DARK and TWISTED romance. The kind of stuff that when you first stumbled across it you were like ”WTF? That’s awful!” but then you couldn’t put it down. The graphic sex scenes, the brutal violence or maybe just the utter heartache that leaves you sobbing and not understanding why you do this to yourself…but then you go back again desperate for more like a junkie needing a fix.
A DARK &TWISTED PLAN
So a plan started to form. Surely I’m not alone here, I thought. There must be other women (and men too) struggling with the same issues. Why not create a blog to:
- Review the darker side of romance.
- Connect with people with similar tastes in romance novels (the dark stuff).
- Talk about any upcoming releases from our favorite authors (now I was getting excited).
- Ooh! And cover reveals!
- Write engaging blog conversations where we all get our opinions out there.
- Have author interviews,
- And Giveaways!
“This could be epic, Smudgie!” I squealed. And he agreed. In fact, he said he’d help. And so Puss’n’Books was born. Oh, Smudgie is the “puss” in Puss’n’Books by the way and he is arguably the smarter of the two of us. You can read all about him and look at all of his adorable pictures HERE.
So that has become my mission, to read and review as many of the dark, twisted and kinky books as possible. Yes, they may be considered taboo sometimes and definitely not everyone’s cup of tea, but I know you are out there. Just like me you need that rather saucy, (and possibly secret), kick in your spare time.
